What is Alan Wake 2?
Alan Wake 2 is a survival horror game with an intense atmosphere and a twisted, layered, psychological story. It is the long-awaited sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s award-winning 2010 psychological thriller, Alan Wake, and 2021’s Alan Wake Remastered.
About the Alan Wake 2:
Though the trailer didn’t quite cast light on gameplay, it still served as a great mood piece. In the trailer, we see an older and dishevelled Alan Wake. He is facing the darkness with a torch and some others tools. In the sequel, his fight against the darkness will be more harrowing and dangerous. According to Lake, Alan Wake 2 will be Remedy’s first Survival Horror experience. Putting it in the same league of games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill.
The gameplay is similar to the first game. It is describe as a “psychological thriller” and “the body of a cinematic action game” put together.
The details of Alan Wake 2 are significantly limited at this time.
Remedy have admitted that they will be “going dark” for a while. They will be back in the summer of 2022 with more announcements.
The game plays out in episodes that break the story into TV-show-sized chunks. Each episode kicks off with a summary of what happened in the last and ends with a cliffhanger and an appropriate piece of music.
It’s a smartly paced game that takes its storytelling seriously, but ends on a note that feels incomplete.
That’s because it is. Remedy designed Alan Wake’s story from the beginning to be told through a number of games.
