Rainbow Six Extraction

Should you buy Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction?

Well, Ubisoft has given us some more UI and customization options. Now the question is, is Rainbow Six Siege still one of the best online shooters?

I would say, YES, it still is!

Rainbow Six Extraction is a three-player co-op shooter set in an offshoot timeline from siege where a react team gets together to face off against the alien threat called the ARCHAEANS, who are hell-bent on engulfing the world in their weird goo and tentacles.

What is Rainbow Six Extraction?

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction (originally known as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine) is an upcoming tactical shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. A spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege (2015), Extraction is a cooperative multiplayer game in which players must work together to combat and defeat a type of parasite-like aliens called the Archaeans.

Rainbow Six Extraction Operator list confirmed, 18 Operators at launch

Not all Rainbow Six Siege Operators made it to the second outing.

Rainbow Six Extraction will launch with 18 playable Operators tasked with tackling an alien parasite across the United States. Players will fight infected forms to contain the spread, using various weapons and gadgets returning from Rainbow Six Siege. However, unlike Rainbow Six Siege’s attacker and defender dynamic, a result of its competitive five-versus-five multiplayer, the Operators unite to form its new REACT unit, pushing back against the biohazard threat.

It includes 18 Elite Operators, 12 Ever-Evolving Maps, 25 Gadgets, 13 Enemy Archetypes, A Unique Progression System, Brand New Lore, Full Cross-Play, Free Post-Launch Content, and much more to come!

Like the mission types, you shouldn’t expect to see every single enemy in a given mission.

While it’d be cool to play with these recognizable faces, it doesn’t seem very likely. Ash seems to be the voice in your squad’s ears throughout missions, so it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to have her in the mission as well. Neither Thermite nor Mira’s gadgets would make much sense in a PvE scenario either, so fair enough.

When does Rainbow Six Extraction release?

Initially announced by Ubisoft during E3 2021 for a September 2021 release, it was later delayed. We know now that Rainbow Six Extraction is releasing January 20, 2022, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
